No link today. I’m just gloating.
You see, America may get all the new music and movies first most of the time, but the U.K. will be getting X-Men Origins: Wolverine before they do.
This makes me immensely happy. I will be pre-booking my ticket and racing to the cinema as soon as school is over on Wednesday.
I’ll tell you all about it.

The Cybersecurity Act of 2009 could grant the President the power to shut down Internet networks. Have a quote from the article:
According to the bill’s language, the president would have broad authority to designate various private networks as a “critical infrastructure system or network” and, with no other review, “may declare a cyber-security emergency and order the limitation or shutdown of Internet traffic to and from” the designated the private-sector system or network.
That’s it folks! The last medium granting almost absolute freedom of expression- compromised! Sorry, this has just made me temporarily incoherent. I can barely keep my spelling and grammar in check. I’m going to go find something else to write about before I smash my keyboard.

Iowa has legalised gay marriage! In three weeks the Supreme Court will issue the legal order.
I hope it sticks. If the douchebags don’t pitch a fit like they did in California, then it is going to shine a favourable light on the state of Iowa- it’ll show advancement.

As of last year, a 16-year-old Girl Scout has tried to warn responsible adults of the dangers of overloaded trucks driving downhill on Angeles Crest Highway. Nobody listened, resulting in another crash on Wednesday, killing 2 and injuring 12.
This is the perfect opportunity to preach about children and teenagers not having a voice and not being paid any attention when really, they are sometimes much more observant than adults and can perceive things that they can’t. But all I really want to know is why she’s still in the Girl Scouts at 16, and whether you can really even be a Girl Scout at 16.
I don’t get it. I never went to any kind of Girl Scouts so I wouldn’t know a thing about it.

UPS has announced that it will stop advertising on The Bill O’Reilly show because Bill O’Reilly is a huge fucking dickhead. Ha. Haha. Ha. Ha.
Everyone should be doing this. ThinkProgress.org is heading the movement- sending letters signed by readers to get them to stop advertising on The Bill O’Reilly Show because the respectable Mr. O’Reilly harassed their managing editor- and she’s not his only victim.
I signed it.
ThinkProgress.org’s Stop Supporting The O’Reilly Harrassment Machine. Go, go, go! It’s getting quite a bit of attention. You can go HERE to watch the sexy looking Olbermann talk about it while naming the respectable Mr. O’Reilly The World’s Worst Person! Go watch it.

14-year-old girl accused of child pornography, by posting nude pictures of HERSELF on her My Space. That’s not child pornography, folks. That’s a mini-whore.
Also, is it just me or does everyone feel a bit wary of people who work at The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and other, similar, organisations that trawl through the Internet looking for kiddie porn? Just me?
And I’m totally with Maureen Kanka, whose daughter is the reason for Megan’s Law. She says the girl needs counselling or something, not a court case. I agree.

California is getting rid of dark coloured cars. It’s because their air conditioning has to work harder to cool down the passengers. It makes sense, of course. It’s a basic rule of science: dark colours=keeps in heat, light colours=reflects heat.
For the sake of the planet or not, it does seem to be a restraint on free will, sorta. But then again, why would you buy a dark coloured car if you lived in California, God’s Metropolitan Furnace?
