Star Trek basically wins. I just watched it. I can confirm this.
Now, if you’ll give me a moment, I need to gush about how incredibly hot Chris Pine was. If you see a lot of girls going to see Star Trek… he may be a factor. It was simply amazing- the guy playing his dad was hot too. But seriously; he’s made me like Star Trek (I’ll see how long I can hold off before I start drowning myself under Star Trek episodes) and if the Green Lantern thing goes through and he plays Hal Jordan? Well, he’ll pretty much own me forever.
Okay, done gushing. I would highly recommend going to see it- whether you’re a fan or not (I wasn’t). While I’ll agree with my Anti-Trekkie BFF and say that the film wasn’t completely amazing, it was worth the money and the time and the hotness. And I’m hoping the DVD will have some more scenes and stuff that I felt were missing from the movie.

The Lord of the Rings fan film, The Hunt For Gollum, will be released on the internet on Sunday 3rd May at 16:00 GMT.
I’ve watched both trailers and it looks very cool. If you don’t know, The Hunt For Gollum is based on the appendices of The Lord of the Rings. The film follows Aragorn II as he searches for Gollum to find out the secrets of the ring in order to help protect the next Ringbearer. The lead isn’t any Viggo Mortensen, but he’s pretty hot.
There’s also another LotR fan film currently being filmed, it’s called Born of Hope and it’s set to be released sometime this Autumn. Born of Hope follows the story of Aragorn II’s parents; Arathorn II and Gilraen. To watch the trailer go here.

If you have not seen the new Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen trailer you need to go see it right fucking NOW.
Have you seen anything more beautiful? N/N? I understand completely.
Michael Bay is Hero of the DayYEAR. And will thus have his own tag. Because he is so excruciatingly awesome.

No link today. I’m just gloating.
You see, America may get all the new music and movies first most of the time, but the U.K. will be getting X-Men Origins: Wolverine before they do.
This makes me immensely happy. I will be pre-booking my ticket and racing to the cinema as soon as school is over on Wednesday.
I’ll tell you all about it.

This is Beyonce. I know. It really picks up at just before a sixth of the way through (I’d give you a time, but it doesn’t have one). This was just hilarious enough to get me out of my funk.
Thank you, Beyonce, for sucking so much. I always knew you did, but it gives me great pleasure to know that you’ve been exposed.
Also, Howard Stern is being named Hero of the Day. He deserves the honour.
EDIT: It’s a fake. Millions are disappointed across the world. Howard Stern is no longer Hero of the Day.
Regardless, it is still hilarious.

17 Again receives an average of 6.2/10 from Rotten Tomatoes.
I’d just like to make some things clear: 1) I HAVE NEVER WATCHED HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL AND I NEVER, EVER, WILL. 2) I think Zac Efron is so very pretty. 3) Admitting to #2 makes me feel compelled to commit seppuku.
So… Ugh- I am actually having a hard time writing this. My brain knows it’s wrong.
I went to see the film yesterday with my friends (I couldn’t muster up enough courage to go alone) and at the end, I was asked why I wanted to see it/why was I cringing so badly now that the lights were back on. I physically could not finish the sentence: “I like Zac Efron.”
It came out sorta like this: “I like Zac Efra-Eflo-Efruuhh- Zac Efuck it, I can’t even say it right.”
Anyway, I am literally twitching as I write this so I’ll make it quick: I liked the movie, I will be buying the DVD, I would recommend going to watch it. That is all. Leave me alone. No, I am not going to watch it again. I won’t!

But who the fuck cares- it’s Captain America! The Steve Rogers version! The best version! Though in all honestly, all the black would suggest something like an evil clone or dark magic, a lot of typical Marvel fan torture and then Steve Rogers appearing deus ex machina style in the last two issues or something, giving Iron Man a heart attack and causing a few volumes of angst for the newly resurrected Cap.
You know it will happen.
But seriously, Marvel, what the fuck, you cannot just give us a fucking star and a date– even DC’s done better than that! Everyone knows what that star means, so there’s no mystery, and everyone knows that July is 87 days away and no, I’m not counting, shut up, so all this is going to do is drive me up the wall while waiting. But I won’t mind because any Steve Rogers is better than no Steve Rogers.
Also, a little more effort with the art wouldn’t have been a bad thing.

Geoff Johns, my personal Jesus, has a new blog. Flash: Rebirth #1 was released yesterday/today, bringing Barry Allen, my favourite Flash (tied with his grandson), back into mainstream continuity like Johns did for Hal Jordan, my favourite Green Lantern. At this point, I would take a bullet for this man.
I am actually torn- do I wait for the graphic novel? Or do I get my ass to Covent Garden every month from now till August to buy single issues? I’m chronically lazy, of course, and entirely too busy from now till August to get my ass anywhere that requires an hour long tube journey, so I’ll probably read it on the Internet and pre-order the graphic novel. Because I only ever buy graphic novels, but this– I could totally break that rule for this storyline. I’d buy the graphic novel regardless of owning the single issues anyway, but still… Argh. Indecision.

Because Iron-Man 2 starts filming on Monday 6th April 2009. The film will star Robert Downey Jr, of course, Gwyneth Paltrow, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle as Rhodey, Mickey Rourke as Whiplash (or Blacklash, I think, if you prefer), Scarlet Johansson as the Black Widow (O.M.G.) and Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer.
BRING IT ON.
This is the reason why I will always love Marvel more than DC.
Also, I’m compiling a list of all the rumoured superhero movies. I’ll see if it’s complete enough to post by Friday.
