Keanu Reeves Set To Destroy Another Classic With His Non-Expressionism

In Celebrities, Film on May 8, 2009 at 8:49 pm

Keanu Reeves seems to have taken the role of Dr. Jekyll in Jekyll, the ‘modern retelling of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde‘.

On the one hand, maybe portraying a split personality, especially one that is batshit insane, will finally allow Reeves’ face to be graced with some sort of expression. Or on the other hand, you know, not.

What do you think? Can this be salvaged/Will it be any good? Do we boycott or riot?

Protesters get stupid at the G20 summit. The pictures have been around for a long time, I wasn’t really bothered with it but everyone has a limit.

I understand standing up and being vocal about your point of view, I understand trying to encourage change in a system that is not working. They’re all respectful things to do.

But rioting? That just degrades everything you stand for- it takes you down from being an activist to being a damn fool.

Personally, I feel sorry for the policemen and all the people on crowd control. They don’t need to be attacked like that! It’s not like the police officers make the rules- there’s no need to take out your anger on someone who can’t do anything about your problems!

And do they even consider what they’re doing to their group’s image? Nobody is going to respect that sort of behaviour and I personally find it disgusting. Someone died because the rioters wouldn’t let the police and paramedics do their job and help someone who’d collapsed!

Protesting something is all well and good- but you don’t need to get stupid about it.

This Angers Me Profusely or Michael Bay Has Betrayed Me Again

In Comic Books, Film on April 2, 2009 at 10:00 pm

Ignore the lovely Megan Fox’s boobs for a second and scroll to the bottom and look at the robot character lists. You see the Autobot half? You see how there is “Sideswipe” clearly written under “Bumblebee” and above “Arcee”? Yes? You see how “Skids & Mudflap (The Twins)” is written right at the bottom?

Yes? Do you understand why I’m angry? Not only that- Sideswipe has been down-graded to an American. Having previously been a Lamborghini Countach or Diablo, the red twin is now a silver Chevrolet Corvette. I will completely ignore the fact that it looks kinda cool on principal and instead suggest that it go die in a fire.

Also: LMAO @ Wheelie being a Decepticon.

Amy Winehouse is not dead yet. But I wouldn’t count on her being ‘healthy’ just yet.

It’s just a waiting game with her. She’ll croak eventually. Soon, I hope, if it means I won’t have to hear about her so damn much.

GCSE Science Fails

In Education on March 28, 2009 at 7:22 pm

Multiple choice questions on GCSE science exam papers are fucking ridiculous. All the examples are from 2006, mostly from the Edexcel board of examinations, there’s only one from AQA. The examples are so freaking easy. Like, ridiculously so- I learned the answers to those before Year 8. You take your GCSEs in Year 10 and 11. Children are failing to correctly answer these simple questions. There is something inherently wrong with that statement.

I’d just like to say: I took my GCSEs in 2007, on the OCR exam board, all on the Higher Tier. I would like you all to know that I got an A in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I worked hard, dammit!

Also, for random lols, an example question:

GCSE Science (Edexcel, 2006)

Our moon seems to disappear during an eclipse. Some people say this is because an old lady covers the moon with her cloak. She does this so that thieves cannot steal the shiny coins on the surface. Which of these would help scientists to prove or disprove this idea?

A) Collect evidence from people who believe the lady sees the thieves

B) Shout to the lady that the thieves are coming

C) Send a probe to the moon to search for coins

D) Look for fingerprints
